By Train and Public Transportation
We recommend travelling to the conference by train. The Deutsche Bahn timetable provides detailed information on connections. KIT South Campus is centrally located in the city centre of Karlsruhe and can be easily reached by public transport from Karlsruhe Central Station and from the city and surrounding area. The exact departure times can be found at the Karlsruhe public transportation system (stops Durlacher Tor/KIT-Campus Süd or Kronenplatz).
That special extra for you as participant! Book your train journey with the Deutsche Bahn Event Ticket and travel easily and comfortably at a fixed price throughout Germany.
Please note that no ticket for public transport in Karlsruhe is included in the conference fee. Please purchase an appropriate (weekly) ticket from the Karlsruhe public transportation system if required.
By Car
KIT South Campus has good connections to the German autobahn network. Leave the A5 at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit and drive towards Karlsruhe. Follow Durlacher Allee and then turn right onto Adenauerring. The main entrance to the KIT (address for navigation devices: Adenauerring 7) is a few meters down the road on the left-hand side. Cars can be parked free of charge at the Waldparkplatz (Adenauerring 20, approx. 500 m further on the right-hand side, less than 10 minutes’ walk to the Audimax).
Please note: Visitors can only enter the campus grounds after prior registration - we can allow this for conference participants only in exceptional cases. In such cases, please contact the local conference organisers.
By Plane
If you would like to travel by plane, the airports of Frankfurt, Stuttgart or Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (Baden-Airpark) are ideal. Further details can be found at: https://www.kit.edu/kit/english/arrival_plane.php
